The Women Behind the Brand

The name on the label isn't a surname. Gresham Reed is two first names. Two daughters and two reasons a man decided to build something that would outlast a trend cycle and stand for something his family could be proud of.

This Mother's Day, we're telling the story we don't talk about often enough, not the fabric, not the fit, but the people. Specifically, the women who shaped the man who built this brand.

How a Name Becomes a Brand

When Mac started Gresham Reed, the name was the first decision and the easiest one.

Gresham and Reed. His daughters. Two girls who don't yet understand what it means to have a clothing brand named after them, but who will one day inherit not just the name but the values it carries. It's a small thing, choosing a name, but it set the tone for everything that followed. This wasn't going to be a brand built on ego or trend, it was going to be built on legacy.

"Naming the brand after my daughters made every decision simpler. If it wasn't something I'd be proud to put their name on, we weren't going to do it."

The Woman Behind the Man

Every founder has a story about the early days, the late nights, the uncertainty, the moment when the whole thing nearly didn't happen. Mac’s story has his wife at the centre of every chapter.

She helped shape the logo in the early days, ran the brand's Instagram before they partnered with a marketing firm, and still gives honest feedback on everything from colorways to how the brand presents itself to the world. More than any of that, she's been the steady presence behind all of it, supporting the family while Mac built the business. As he puts it, “there's no version of Gresham Reed without her”.

What Legacy Actually Means

Legacy is a word that gets used a lot in golf. Old courses, traditions, things passed down, but legacy isn't about the past, it's about what you're building for the people who come after you.

At Gresham Reed, legacy means creating something worth inheriting. Not just a business, but a set of values: quality over quantity, honesty over hype, family over everything.

Mac is a golfer, a founder, and a father. The order depends on the day, but when you ask him what Gresham Reed is really about, the answer always comes back to the same place.

"I hope they see something real, something that was built with intention and done the right way. That we were honest in how we approached it, that we built it through relationships, and that we never cut corners. It's taken a lot of hard work to get here, and more than anything, I hope they're proud to have their name on it."

For the Women Who Set the Standard

This Mother's Day, we're thinking about the women who shape the men who wear Gresham Reed.

The mothers who drove you to your first lesson. The wives who tolerate your Sunday morning tee times. The daughters who will one day inherit more than a name.

They don't always get the credit, and they rarely ask for it, but behind every great round, and every brand worth wearing, there's a woman who made it possible.

Happy Mother's Day. From our family to yours.
